Can anyone explain why some WC lineages do not use geng power like WSL lineage and others claim without it WC can’t be used/applied in a real street fight? I didn’t even know some lineages had it and others didn’t. I’m not a WC practitioner but have always had an interest in the art and find these discussions interesting.

My understanding is that the term Ging relates to power, Fa Ging is the explosive release of power, this comes from coordination of movement and strength (Li). So the 1 inch punch or Chun Ging is an expression of Fa Ging.
Ging chong gwut gun faat, lik chong geek jang sheng (Not sure on the charecters)
Power comes from the bones and tendons, strength originates from the heels
So basically the kinetic chain and transference of energy
Maybe this is a translation or pronunciation issue .. Faa Ging as Sifu Joseph Lee explains it is “ explosive energy “ now I’m not sure if that’s what the question was aimed at but that’s how I understand it - it’s about “internal energy” - contraction at the point of impact - going from soft loose energy ( fast ) to solid powerful contraction with extreme muscle tension
Again, my opinion is that a lot of wing chun practitioners are not doing this because they are concentrated on the Hobby and the practice of chi sau and aren’t focusing on development of power which is essential for real self defence..
Another explanation is that they haven’t been taught it and have no idea about it
Still so many secrets left in wing chun
Not sure what you referring to the term Ging 勁 ? (strong; powerful; sturdy) this applies to all Chinese Kung Fu styles.
