ABOUT PAUL FINN

Sifu Paul began martial arts at 11 training in traditional Japanese Martial Arts including Judo and Karate.

​

In 1984 the BBC screened a series called Way of the Warrior. Which was an 8 part documentary series on martial arts.

​

One episode featured Wing Chun and another JKD ( Bruce Lees martial art - derived from Wing Chun )

Since that time nearly 40 years ago Paul dedicated his time to studying from the very best international instructors including Guro Dan Inosanto ( Bruce Lees only student ever certified to teach JKD ) & Sifu Francis Fong and Sifu Joseph Lee - 2 masters of Wing Chun of the highest calibre.

Sifu Paul is one of less than 10 Full Instructors in Europe certified by Guro Inosanto to teach JKD ( Jun Fan ) Inosanto Kali and Filipino martial arts and Maphalindo Silat.

Paul is the only certified black belt in Sifu Francis Fong lineage Wing Chun ( FFIA ) in the U.K. and has a master grade in Lee Shing Wing Chun from Sifu Joseph Lee ( having been a closed door student for 22 years ).

In addition he is a representative of the Pencak Silat Mande Muda ( Indonesian martial art of self defence ) by Ibu Rita Suwanda being the only person to be openly teaching Mande Muda in the U.K.

Paul is the highest graded student of Guro Ralph Jones Zanshin Martial Arts ( JKD & Kali ) and has a level 3 instructor grade from Guro Rick Faye of the world famous Minnesota Kali Group.

Martial arts particularly the practical arts of self defence from SE Asia have been Sifu Paul’s life blood since he travelled to Hong Kong and the Philippines in 1991. 

​

Paul has trained all over the world including USA Japan HK Italy Germany Spain amongst others and has been hosted by international schools in Spain, Denmark and Ireland to teach Wing Chun Silat and Kali.

​

His qualifications in Wing Chun JKD Kali and Silat are second to none.

​

Sifu Paul brings an unique approach to practical martial arts application - a traditional way for the modern world.

Sifu Paul practiced as litigation Solicitor in a Legal 500 law firm before deciding to persue his passion for martial arts as a true vocation.

​

This helps him bring systemisation and progression in his professional teachings and gradings which are internationally recognised by the best in the world.
